Aline Rouille

This is a charming sampler with the dedication, AMITIE, which translates to FRIENDSHIP. It is signed by the maker, Aline Rouille, and was most likely given to a dear friend as a token of esteem. We have seen other samplers worked as presentations to friends or benefactors and find this to be very appealing. 

Worked in wool on linen, it is in excellent condition with a very few missing stitches. It has been conservation mounted and is in a black painted frame.
